Where is the North
Star Corn Maze located? Just off Highway 65 one mile north of Northwood, Iowa, turn west on 490th Street and go west on blacktop 1/2 of a mile. The maze is conveniently located only 20 minutes south of Albert Lea, MN; only 30 minutes north of Mason City; and only 10 minutes from I-35, Diamond Jo Casino, and Top of Iowa Welcome Center. When is the North Star Corn Maze open? Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from August 29-November 2, 2008. Friday and Saturday hours are from noon to midnight. Sunday hours are noon to 10 p.m., or call to schedule an appointment for during the week 1(641)324-1435. Haunted Halloween Maze Oct. 31, Nov. 1 & 2. Gate for haunt opens at 7pm. Regular mazing noon to 5pm ONLY on those days. What is the cost of admission? Age 6-Adult: $5; Children 5 and under: free. Special rates for schools only. How long does it take to get through the North Star Corn Maze? Allow an hour to hour and a half to skillfully navigate through the maze. Those limited on time or for small children unable to walk far, or groups can take the half way exit path back to the victory tent. Also at the halfway point there is a restroom and water station. organization, or reunion to Is it possible to get lost in the North Star Corn Maze? Those entering the maze are given a map as well as a flag to wave if they are in need of assistance. There are maze masters who stand on a tower in the center of the maze who can verbally direct mazers from the tower or who will send in guides on the ground to locate lost mazers and get them back on track. |
